The cycle of crime, punishment and reoffending is an issue of public safety and places a high burden on taxpayers. Additionally communities lose family members to this cycle. One small part we can play in helping avoid recidivism is offering friendship and moral support to inmates by encouraging education and healthy social interaction. Inmates also require advice and moral support as they prepare for re-entry into society as productive members of the community.
We started this website to connect inmates with pen pals who are open to offering a supportive, honest friendship. Hopefully, the pen pal friendships established on this website will enrich many lives in the years to come.
